A few more November happenings.

Brittany and Steven at the Utah Flashs' Basketball Game.
Mick was offered 3 tickets to the Utah Flash on Tuesday. Brittany and Steven were more than happy to use the other tickets. They all had a great time. Dad came home with a lot of t-shirts that were handed out at the game. That made the girls at home happy. I'm not sure which Brittany and Steven enjoyed more, the game or watching dad trying to get all the freebies!!

Uncle Cameron and Jackson
"Swing More, Swing More" Jackson said.

Happy Birthday Cameron!!

Cameron celebrated his birthday on November 24th.
He was able to go to the BYU game and see the Cougars win.
Later at the house we had chili, scones and cake.

Thanksgiving Day 2007

Thankgiving is the holiday of peace,
the celebration of work and the simple life...
a true folk-festival that speaks the poetry
of the turn of the seasons,
the beauty of seedtime and harvest,
the ripe product of the year--and the deep,
deep connection of all these things with God.

Ray Stannard Baker

Some things I love about Thanksgiving : The traditions. I always remember having a wonderful dinner that my mom had made. Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, yams and cranberries and my grandma Anderson's Thanksgiving salad. We had this for every Thanksgiving that I can remember. I have carried on this tradition and our Thanksgiving dinner is not complete without it. I love my mom's pumpkin chiffon pie, it tasted especially good this year. I love the coming together of different generations and giving thanks for living in America and the blessings we enjoy because of it. Tradition that my dad offers the blessing on the food. I love his humble prayer of gratitude.

I feel very Thankful for many things this year.

--I had most of my family here to share the day with us.
-- I Have an amazing husband who treats me like a queen.
--I have been blessed with great children and grandchildren.
--I have been blessed with wonderful parents, brother and sisters.
--I enjoy good health.
--I am thankful for a roof over my head and food on my table.
--Most of all I am thankful for the gospel and the eternal nature of our family.

We couldn't fit everyone around one table so
we had a table for the 1st and 2nd generation, a table for the 3rd generation and a little table for the 4th generation.

The "Men Den" as Debbie called it. Lots of football before and after our dinner. Mick and Cameron played in the annual turkey bowl at a park close to our home. This is one of Mick's favorite Thanksgiving traditions. This was his 26th annual turkey bowl. They had so many guys show up that they formed 2 teams. Mick and Cameron had a great time. Mick said that Cameron was unstopable.

More Fall Activities

Carly sings in a women's choir and sang at a concert in October. They sounded great and Carly looked beautiful

Kaylie is taking a sewing class this fall. She made this jumper for the Make it with wool contest.
She did a great job sewing the jumper and had fun modeling it. Even though she didn't get to go to the state competion we felt like she had learned so much.

It's Autumn Time!

Mick and Kaylie got up early one Saturday (4:30 a.m ) morning to meet
a group at the church. They drove to the base of Timpanogos and then spent the next few hours hiking.
It was a hard hike and they were exhasted when they got home, but
they said the scenery was beautiful and they enjoyed spending the day together.

We drove on the Alpine Loop in October.

We stopped and hiked around Cascade Springs. It had been years ago that we had gone on this route. I remember going to Cascade Springs at least once a summer with my parents when I was younger.

My parents gave me a night at the Zermatt Resort in Midway for my Birthday.
Mick and I went in November and had a wonderful time. We had an amazing seafood buffet Friday night and a great breakfast the
next morning. We played minature golf and pretended to have a great game of Chess. We really felt like we were in a
little Swiss Village. It was so nice to have this time together.

The Cutest Grandchildren In The World!

"Grandchildren are God's compensation
for gray hair and wrinkles."

We have loved spending time with our grandchildren.
It is amazing to think that we have 5 already
and are expecting our 6th.

We love these precious little spirits.
They bring such joy to our lives.

Aliza and Grandpa

Aliza is so sweet. She is very cuddly and observes everything
around her. She is starting to smile a lot more and was so excited
to see us when she came to our house in October.

Madeline loves the slide

I tried to get a picture of her climbing up to the top of the slide.

When I said can you turn so I can take your picture,
she said "Ine (she calls herself "Ine") is climbing"
It was so cute! Madeline is a busy little girl and
loves to have stories read to her.

Our little Cowgirl, Morgan and Cowboy, Jackson.

It was fun having them come to our house
and say "Trick or Treat"

Morgan is our little tease and loves to trick us, especially her grandpa.
Jackson is our cuddly little grandson who always seems happy.

Summer Travel (4)

The Susquehanna River Mick and I love this spot where the Priesthood was restored.

We got to the grove early so that we could have some quiet time to ourselves. It was so peaceful and beautiful there. We are so thankful for the Prophet Joseph Smith and the prayer he offered in this grove that brought about the Restoration of the Gospel. The Sacred Grove

The Hill Cummoprah Pagaent.
We had a great time meeting many of the cast members and trying to guess what part they were playing.
Mick overlooking the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvannia.

This famous canyon was about 30 minutes from Mansfield, Pennsylvannia were we stayed for the week with EFY. It was a beautiful hilly area. We had a great week with the youth at EFY. It was especially great having Carly and Kaylie with us.

We finished our session Saturday morning and started driving home.
We drove for 2 long days, but it went amazingly fast.
We were grateful for the chance to see parts of this great country and to feel of the spirit in the Sacred Church sites.

Summer Travel (3)

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It is really amazing to see this area where the great battle of Gettysburg occurred. We are thankful for all of those who lost their lives for the cause of freedom.

Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.
We enjoyed touring these sites and hearing the famous Abraham Lincoln Speech presented by our tour guide.

Of course we couldn't go to "Philly" without seeing the places "Rocky" ran. Mick re-enacted Rocky for us as he ran to the top of the stairs at the art museum. We could hear the music in our minds as he victoriously reached the top.

A view of "Philly" from the top of the stairs.

Mick got a "Rocky" shirt at one of the shops in town. Several people stopped him to ask where he got the cool shirt!
